After You Have Received Your Acceptance Notification Email
Select a visual arts advisor in your area email them.

Allow one week for the administrative changes to be processed. Review your student record in to ensure that your major has been changed to the Visual Arts (B.F.A.) and that your new advisor has been officially assigned.
Continue Courses & Stay Active
Continue pursuing advanced studio and art history courses following the and any program requirements for the year you started the program.
Make the most of your experience and succeed in this program by staying active and involved in the arts by:
- Meeting with your advisor frequently to select courses that best fit your interests and to and seek mentorship
- Joining a Student Art Clubs and Organizations
- Becoming a Studio Assistant * Create Page
- Apply for Scholarships and Awards
- Submit your artwork to juried exhibitions.
- Search for opportunities in
- Submit your art research or creative projects to events hosted by the Center for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities

- Talk to your faculty area advisor about internship options, and consider using 3 credits in your plan of study to take ART 4850 Internship in Visual Arts.
Senior Capstone Exhibition
- In the semester prior to enrolling in ART 4910 Senior Capstone Exhibition, you will develop a proposal with guidance from your area advisor.
- Use the Visual Arts Senior Capstone Proposal form, either the Studio Arts Form (PDF) or the Digital & Design Form (PDF) to compile information about the proposal.
- After you and your advisor have reached an agreement on the main features of the proposal, submit the form to be enrolled in ART 4910 Senior Capstone Exhibition for the following semester:
- Note: ART 4910 Senior Capstone Exhibition is offered in fall and spring semesters only. If you plan to graduate in a Summer semester, enroll in ART 4910 the preceding Spring semester.
Prepare to Graduate
Your last semester is bound to be the most rewarding, and it will lead into your graduation. As you prepare to graduate:
- Create a digital portfolio which reflects all your experiences and achievements in the Visual Arts (B.F.A.)
- Write a Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Set up a professional artist website
- Make a LinkedIn profile
- Obtain multi-purpose letters of reference from your area advisor and from a second faculty member who knows you well
