Game Studies Minor
Video games are culturally relevant as a growing source of entertainment, but also for the purposes of education, training, and advertising/public relations. A minor in game studies will prepare students to evaluate these digital, interactive texts both as forms of artistic expression and as media artifacts communicating ideas, values, and skills to those who play. Combining courses in art history with courses in digital game history, game studies, and critical theory, this minor will prepare students to look beyond the surface of this pervasive medium to a deeper understanding of its cultural impact.
