Graduates of Unaccredited High School or Home School Program

If your home school program or high school is not accredited by one of the approved accreditation agencies listed at right, you are on the right web page. If your program is accredited, please use the new freshman requirements and application procedures.

Requirements for All New Unaccredited Home School or High School Applicants

17 or older before the start of Cadet basic training (FROG Week).
If you are transferring from a college you must also meet our transfer admission criteria.
Have a clear disciplinary, conduct and background record.
Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance.

High School and College Dual Enrollment GPA Minimums
High School

All new freshman applicants should have at least a 2.4 high school GPA in the Required High School Curriculum. for consideration for admission as a bachelor’s degree seeking student. To be considered for an associate pathway program, applicants must have a least a 2.0 high school GPA in the Required High School Curriculum.

College Dual Enrollment

Those applying for freshman admission who have completed dual enrollment through another institution while enrolled in high school should meet the following:

Bachelor's degree applicants: At least a 2.0 cumulative GPA on all college dual enrollment coursework. (Students with dual enrollment GPA's below this may be considered on a case-by-case basis.)

Associate degree applicants: Must be eligible to re-enroll at the institution where you dual enrolled.

Applicants who have been suspended from a college or university during dual enrollment may not be eligible for admission.

SAT/ACT Minimums

Admission to a bachelor's degree program is selective, and meeting minimum scores does not necessarily guarantee acceptance. SAT and ACT test scores must be sent electronically through the College Board or ACT. Test scores printed on high school or college transcripts will not be accepted.

Complete 17 (RHSC) units of high school coursework.

You must submit a home school summary form and portfolio that demonstrates you are on track to complete your RHSC, or SAT II Subject exam results.

Apply for admission online using the or submit a paper application (PDF). All applicants will pay a non-refundable $40 application fee.

Submit home school summary form and homeschool portfolio. If you enroll in any college, ask the college to submit an official transcript.

If you have completed dual enrollment credit by the time you apply to ��ϲʿ��, please request an official college transcript to be sent to ��ϲʿ�� directly from the college where you were taking your dual enrollment credit. If you have dual enrolled at multiple colleges, please request that an official transcript from each school be sent to ��ϲʿ��. We must receive the transcripts through e-script, Parchment, National Student Clearinghouse or another secure transcript delivery service directly from the institutions: choose Admissions Imaging Center or use admissions-gvl@ung.edu as the intended recipient. Note: At this time, the University of North Georgia will not superscore current and redesigned SAT test scores due to variation in design and content.

Army Regulations require verified proof of lawful presence in order to participate in ROTC and the Corps of Cadets. Lawful presence will need to be provided prior to an admissions decision being made for Corps of Cadets participation. Students who cannot provide lawful presence may be admitted to the University of North Georgia, but not as a cadet. We cannot evaluate your application for admission until you have submitted a valid document for your verification of Lawful Presence Documentation.

Notes

Some bachelor's degree programs have additional requirements that you must complete before you can enroll in that major. Examples include Elementary & Special Education, Middle Grades, Secondary & Science Education, and Nursing. Please contact the academic department of your desired major to determine whether there are additional requirements. Admission to ��ϲʿ�� doesn't guarantee you admission to a specific major.

Transfer Course Credit

Transfer credit is usually awarded for courses that are designed to be part of an associate or bachelor's degree program and are completed with satisfactory grades in regionally accredited colleges. Such courses must generally correspond to the length, time and content of those offered in the curricula at the University of North Georgia.

Please note that this is not a complete list because it only includes courses that have transferred to the University of North Georgia in the past. Note that you are required to earn a grade of "C" or better in English 1101 and 1102 (or equivalents) in order for these courses to transfer. Other courses earned at accredited institutions may transfer with grades of "D", to the extent that the grades on all credits accepted for transfer average at least 2.0. All "D" grades in core curriculum courses taken within the University System of Georgia are transferable, with the exception of English 1101 and 1102.

The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy, Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008 require higher education institutions to provide an that contain crime statistics and fire statistics for the three most recently completed calendar years, institutional policies or procedures for reporting crimes and current policies concerning the security of, and access to, campus facilities and residencies, as well as security considerations in the maintenance of campus facilities.
