To accomplish this, Active Duty Army service members assigned to 1st Brigade, US Army Cadet Command offer Military Science courses focused on developing leaders that excel as part of the Senior Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) and Department of the Army. The Professor of Military Science (PMS) intent is to commission fit and intellectually curious and agile officers who are prepared to positively contribute to an Army in transition from a Global War on Terrorism focus to an Army focused on regenerating Combat Power and preparing for Multi-Domain Operations (Army 2030).

All members of the ROTC program are required to take military science courses and participate in physical fitness training as well as Cadet led labs and field training exercises.
