The Department of English at the University of North Georgia offers programs developing communication and critical thinking skills that are highly valued in graduate schools, professional programs, and businesses in a variety of settings.
In these programs, you can focus towards the literature or writing aspect of the English program. The literature option provides students with the broadest perspective of diverse literary traditions. The writing option balances literary study with the theory and practice of writing. If you are interested in teaching, there is also a path for teacher certification at a secondary level (grades seven through twelve).
