Department Chairs and Directors

  • Dr. Kim Hudson-Gallogly, Department Chair of Nursing
    Desire to transition to School of Nursing. Doctorate of Nursing Program approved, 正澳门六合彩开奖结果 to lead. Phasing out ASN. 3,100 sq. ft. Virtual Hospital and Simulation Center in fall 2015 on Gainesville campus. Emphasis on community and global outreach; impactful international trips annually.
  • Dr. Mary Ellen Franklin, Department Chair of Physical Therapy
    Focus on community engagement; interdisciplinary and highly specialized research-based initiatives: 3D printing in hippotherapy (the “saddle master” 正澳门六合彩开奖结果’s first patent), interests in small animal rehabilitation, cREATe collaboration (partnered with GA Tech to create assistive technology). Potential international programs and existing, annual global trips. Increasing scholarship efforts; creating motion analysis lab.
  • Dr. Clay Rowell, Department Chair of Counseling
    Recent reaccreditation. New clinic now serving community. Development in clinical education and partnerships. Highly trained, distinguished faculty. Current needs assessments for potential programs: Ph.D., additional master’s areas, post-master’s certificates.
  • Dr. Myra Clark, Director of Research and Scholarship
    Faculty research: broad spectrum in healthcare, recent publications, ongoing projects; potential NIH grant in diabetes education. Highly specialized faculty, diverse expertise. Faculty scholarship: monthly sessions, University grants and contracts. Moving forward, next steps.
  • Dr. Stefanie Palma, Director of Academic Services
    Program development: certificates approved in Health Care Administration and Health Information, five more proposed; associates, bachelors and minor options approved, proposed or in progress. Current plans include building residencies and continuing to facilitate partnerships. Innovative technologies and current research. 
  • Dr. Carolynn DeSandre, Director of Interprofessional Education and Community Engagement
    Emphasizing global engagement; international travel opportunities – reinforces student critical thinking and awareness. Current IPE projects; campus wide mock shooting incident in spring 2016, interdisciplinary core disaster training.

  • Dr. William Nicholas, consultant to the College
    Status as a newly formed College facilitates exponential opportunities in growth; blank canvas. Current demands in healthcare – still areas to explore.
