Georgia State House District 9 Scholarship/Internship
The District 9 representative to the Georgia State House’s General Assembly is offering a scholarship to political science majors during the Spring 2025 through Spring 2026 semesters, in return for working as an intern in his office.
If you are interested in working with a representative to the Georgia State House and your projected graduation is May 2026 or later, you have at least a 2.5 GPA, and you have at minimum three hours available in your Plan of Study for POLS 3xxx and/or 4xxxx courses and/or electives, this program is for you!
If you have strong written and oral communication skills and are comfortable with public speaking, apply today!

Responsibilities:
- Roughly 10-hour work weeks during the semester.
- Research pending legislation and bills assigned to Rep.Wade’s committees.
- Be at the State Capitol in Atlanta for approximately 1day per week during the state legislative session (January-April). [This can be worked around your class schedule.]
- Assist with constituent services related to state government assistance.
- Work with local government bodies on issues affecting their communities.
- Represent the office at non-partisan community organization events (e.g., Chambers of Commerce, Kiwanis Club, etc.).
- Monitor media channels.
- Review/write press releases and other materials.
- Compile and maintain constituent and other contact lists
Note: If you cannot commit to working with Rep Wade’s office for all three semesters, you are encouraged to still apply. However, be aware that priority consideration will be given to students who are available for the full three-semester internship period.
