The University of North Georgia offers degree programs that meet the educational requirements students need to apply for professional licensure or certification in Georgia. The programs may not meet the education requirements for licensure or certification in other jurisdictions.

Students who plan to pursue professional licensure should contact the program coordinator and appropriate licensing entity for additional information and guidance.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Upon completion of the program, University of North Georgia graduates will have satisfied all educational requirements and be eligible to sit for the NCLEX exam. After passing the NCLEX, graduates can submit credentials to a state nursing board for licensure in the state they intend to legally reside and/or practice.

Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)

The state of Georgia participates in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC). The NLC allows RNs to apply for one multi-state license with the privilege to practice in other NLC states. You may only hold a compact license if you legally declare residency in a compact state.
