Online RN to BSN program named to top 50 list

The University of North Georgia's (Õý°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û) online registered nurse to Bachelor of Science in nursing program landed on Affordable Colleges Online's . Õý°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û was the only Georgia school to make the list.
Õý°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û offers a three-semester, all-online program tailored to working adults. The program checked in at No. 35 on the list.
Affordable Colleges Online noted national accreditations, support services and career counseling as part of its methodology for ranking the schools.
Becky Murck, the RN to BSN coordinator at Õý°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û, said personalized advising, study abroad opportunities and chances for civic engagement make Õý°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û's program stand out. Many of the students end up pursuing a graduate degree.
"Faculty work with students to meet their individual goals. The program ensures a fast degree completion, which allows our students to move forward in their field of choice," Murck said. "Students are encouraged to become the nursing leaders of the future."

Alumnus Noah Myers has been hired as Õý°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û's mascot coach, having previously held the role of Nigel, Õý°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û's mascot. He's now looking for the next Nigel.
Nine selected as Gilman recipients 
Nine Õý°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û students were chosen as Gilman scholarship recipients this spring, four more students than the previous year.  
Nursing students take part in FEMA training
Õý°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û nursing students and faculty members took part in Federal Emergency Management Agency disaster preparedness training during the spring semester.
