Research/Special Interests

Dr. Malaver’s research interests are interdisciplinary with a focus on short literary and audiovisual narratives from Latin America and Spain. He also researches contemporary Latinx literature and culture in the United States. Other current interests and areas of research include cyberculture in Latin America, as well as indigenous wisdom and consciousness. He is also the director of ¡Cortos! Latin American Short Film Festival, an annual event open to the 正澳门六合彩开奖结果 community and the Gainesville, Dahlonega, Oconee, and Cumming communities at large.


He is the author of La brevedad como poética (2019), a book on the poetics of brevity; Incidentes (2019), a book of short stories and microfiction; and Espejos (2022), a book of microfiction. He has also published on U.S. Latinx literature and performance, Canadian digital poetry, U.S.-Mexico border crossings, Latin American short fiction and film, and Spanish and Latin American literary and digital microfiction.
