Research/Special Interests
Dr. O’Sullivan has special interests in demography, population trends, the cognitive problems of science, shifting cultural values, democratic structures of problem solving, sustainability, social change, climate change, pollution, sustainable energy, and eco-literacy.
Work Experience
Dr. O’Sullivan started the first environmental studies classes here in the institute. He has been involved in the environmental movement for 20 years. Before returning to Georgia in 2000, he taught social theory, human ecology and environmental sociology at Delta State University.
He also taught at the University of North Carolina all during his doctorate. Previously he has also lived and worked in Greensboro NC, Boston MA, Kinderhook, NY, and Amsterdam the Netherlands and worked as a psychometrist, a counselor, and directed a college counseling center.
Personal Information
He likes to travel, read, swim, and meet new people. He lives happily with his wife in Gainesville.
