Overview

Brian is a 10-year Army Engineer veteran who served executing multiple construction projects; both various on military installations and while deployed for the border patrol, to Kuwait and to Iraq. He commanded Charlie Company, 169th Engineer Battalion in Gulfport, MS at the Navy Seabee’s construction school house. After graduating from the United Kingdom’s Royal School of Military Survey while in the Army, Brian served two years at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) where he taught NGA’s college Introductory to LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) and Photogrammetry courses, and helped develop the agency’s Lessons Learned program.

He worked as a manufacturing supervisor at a Japanese automotive plant for four years prior to being hired as a government civilian teaching various subjects for the Department of Defense which is where he currently works full time. Brian has been working part-time as faculty for the Institute for Environmental and Spatial Analysis at the University of North Georgia since January 2016.

Research/Special Interests

Brian’s master dissertation argued for the benefit of 3D mapping and visualization for defense and for its introduction to junior officer curriculum. He is interested in applying GEOINT to manufacturing and facilities engineering for continuous improvement and sustainability.

Work Experience

Brian has 10 years experience as an Army Engineer officer, four years as a manufacturing supervisor, and six years (and counting as of 2020) as an faculty/instructor. He also has six years experience coaching youth soccer.
