Hurricane Creek Research Site
The University of North Georgia’s Hurricane Creek Research Site is a fertile, bottomland site following the Etowah River and containing the tributary Hurricane Creek. The Hurricane Creek Research Site provides a place for many Environmental Science and Biology focused labs to perform field studies, conduct on site labs, and have an active role in restoration efforts.
Restoration efforts at Hurricane Creek Research Site are focused on restoring the native flora and aiding in the return of natural habitat back to a disturbed site.

- Loblolly Pine Savannah Forest: 33 Acres
- Upland Hardwood Forest: 6 Acres
- Hayfield: 10 Acres
- Total Length of Creek: Approximately 1.31 Miles
