Refunds and Disbursement of Financial Aid Award Balances

Refunds for Withdrawals

Upon a complete withdrawal from the university (through the Registrar’s Office), a partial refund of tuition and fees will be processed. A complete withdrawal is a withdrawal from all courses. Individual course withdrawals will not generate a refund. Complete withdrawal refunds are based on the following:

"The refund amount for students withdrawing from an institution shall be based on a pro rata percentage determined by dividing the number of calendar days in the semester that the student completed by the total calendar days in the semester. The total calendar days in a semester includes weekends, but excludes scheduled breaks of five (5) or more days and days that a student was on an approved leave of absence.

The unearned portion shall be refunded up to the point in time that the amount earned equals sixty percent (60%). Students who withdraw from the institution when the calculated percentage of completion is greater than 60% are not entitled to a refund of any portion of institutional charges.” (BOR Policy 7.3.5.1)

“A refund of all non-resident fees, matriculation fees, and other mandatory fees shall be made in the event of the death of a student at any time during the academic session.” (BOR Policy 7.3.5.2)

Title IV Authorization

Title IV is the collective term for financial aid received from the university and federal government. It includes such aid as the Pell Grant, Stafford Loans, Parent PLUS loans, and others. (More information on FA page).

These funds can be used to pay for tuition, mandatory fees, housing costs, and meal plans. If you have more aid than is needed to pay for these charges, these would normally be refunded to you.

However, you can authorize 正澳门六合彩开奖结果 to use your pending refunds to cover other costs not included in those categories. This can include such costs as health clinic charges, parking fines, digital textbooks, other items from the 正澳门六合彩开奖结果 bookstore, and other fines or charges you may have.

In order to use your Title IV funds to pay for these costs, you must authorize 正澳门六合彩开奖结果 to be allowed to do so. This can be done by following the instructions below. If you do not wish to use your refund for these costs, you will still be responsible for paying the outstanding balance separately.

Steps to complete authorization

  1. Login to Banner (link) and go to Banner Student
  2. Select the menu in the upper left corner (the four boxes)
  3. Select Student Account
  4. Select Title IV Authorization
  5. Review the form and then select “Select an Authorization Status” to change your status*
  6. Select “Submit Authorizations” to complete the process

Note: Should you ever wish to rescind this authorization, you can follow these same steps and change the Authorization Status and submit the changes.

Disbursement of Refund

  • If payment was remitted via web credit card, any credit balance on a student account is first refunded to the credit card used for the payment (limited to the amount of payment and only applicable if within the same semester).
  • If payment was remitted via cash or check, or if a credit balance is financial aid in excess of tuition and fees, the refund of the credit balance is issued through the refund selection preference chosen by the student with BankMobile Disbursements, a technology solution, powered by BMTX, Inc. today.
