Commencement Accommodations Video Transcript
Hello graduates and guests! Here’s what to expect for Commencement Special Accommodations.
Driving up: When you first arrive, you will be greeted by our parking team. Our team will have golf carts and a shuttle waiting to aid in the transportation to and from our parking lots and Convocation Center.
ADA drop off: If you or someone in your party needs to be dropped off, our parking team will be happy to assist you by directing you to the accessible drop off area located directly in front of the Convocation Center.
Parking: The yellow lots on the diagram indicate where guests may park. The purple lot is reserved for accessible parking.
Getting to the building: Our accessible needs team will assist guests from ADA drop off area to the ramp which leads to the Convocation Center Plaza. This is where you will enter the building. We encourage our guests to make use of the side handrails.
Walking in: Once you arrive to the Convocation Center Plaza, parties with guests who have a need for accessible seating will enter through the far-right door. This door will have a sign over it, indicating the accessible entry.
Accessible Seating: Our team provides two options for accessible seating: Wheelchair Bays provide seating for those in a wheelchair and one additional guest with them.
Additionally, the top two rows of the Convocation Center will be reserved for parties who have a guest in need of accessible seating that can take a 6-inch step down and back up.
Please note that we encourage guests who use or need a wheelchair to bring their own. Please see the Commencement website for more information regarding wheelchairs.
We encourage you to review our FAQ and Special Accommodations pages should you have any additional questions.
Finally, for graduates who require any special accommodations for themselves, we ask that you please contact our office at 706-864-1950 or email us at universityevents@ung.edu.
Congratulations to all of our graduates! We can’t wait to help you celebrate the best day ever!
