Conference Description
This conference is designed to bring educators and outstanding students together to connect in conversations about active learning and student engagement. The focus of this conference is Best Practices for Promoting Engaged Student Learning. Session topics will address a wide range of topics related to active and engaged learning. Areas of interest include but are not limited to:
- Developing Students' Critical Thinking Skills
- Distance Learning/Blended Learning
- Collaborative Models
- Connected & Mobile Learning
- Complete College Georgia Efforts
- Open Educational Resources
Keynote Speaker:
The keynote speaker for the conference is Dr. Todd Zakrajsek, Executive Director of the Academy of Educators in the School of Medicine and an Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at UNC-Chapel Hill. Dr. Zakrajsek will present the interactive keynote/workshop, "Motivating and Engaging Your Students: Strategies for Teaching From the Psychology of Learning."
Student Involvement:
Faculty presenters are encouraged to propose a session with an outstanding student or team of students to give attendees a chance to hear from students themselves about how these efforts affect their learning experience.
Conference Fee:
The conference registration fee of $175 includes all sessions, the interactive keynote workshop, refreshments, lunch on Thursday, and the social reception on Thursday evening. Student fees are $50. Hotel rooms at the UGA Hotel at the Conference Center start at $99 per night. Registration for the conference will be available soon.
