Overview

Dr. Park joined the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of North Georgia in 2016. He is currently conducting various research projects in the Movement Science Lab. Dr. Park has trained as a Physical Therapist through his undergraduate studies in South Korea. After one year of practice in PT clinic, he moved to the US for a Ph.D. with a concentration of motor control and learning in the Biomechanics and Movement Science program from the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Delaware. Then, Dr. Park moved to Georgia Institute of Technology for his post-doctoral training in the Comparative Neuromechanics Lab and participated in research related to amputee population’s gait and cycling.

Dr. Park’s research interest is how coordination of given elemental variables can change with motor development and motor learning process. This idea can applied to post-stroke survivors to provide useful information for rehabilitation. It can also be applied to the healthy elderly subject to understand how neurological change with aging will affect the functional movement.

He is currently teaching Neuroscience I, II, and research courses.
