Three University of North Georgia (正澳门六合彩开奖结果) staff members presented at the 51st annual National Migrant Education Conference held May 1-4 in New Orleans.

Christian Bello-Escobar, director of migrant programs and services; Thalia Escobedo, retention coordinator; and Becky Cruz, recruiter and outreach coordinator, discussed 正澳门六合彩开奖结果's College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) in a workshop.

The 正澳门六合彩开奖结果 staff members designed the workshop to help migrant service providers assist college-bound students in gaining acceptance and thriving in their first year and beyond.

Cruz presented the qualifications needed to be accepted into 正澳门六合彩开奖结果's CAMP, one of only three such programs in Georgia, as well as strategies and skills important for students to learn before and while attending college. CAMP addresses educational challenges and psychological needs of migrant students and shares practical approaches to help them succeed.

The conference was sponsored by the National Association of State Directors of Migrant Education (NASDME). NASDME annually sponsors the National Migrant Education Conference, which is the largest migrant conference in the United States.

NASDME is the professional organization of state officials charged with the effective and productive management of supplemental programs that help migrant children succeed in school. It also represents the migrant education community in continuing dialogues with the federal government.
