Õý°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û

Hundreds of prospective University of North Georgia (Õý°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û) students will tour their future home campuses beginning March 4 to learn about the many opportunities and experiences available.

"Õý°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û recognizes that choosing which college to attend upon high school graduation is a big decision.  Finding the right 'fit' is paramount in assuring student growth and success. Open House events are the best way for prospective students and their families to learn what Õý°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û has to offer so they may make the best decision for their academic future," said Molly Potts, director of undergraduate admissions at Õý°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û.

The dates and locations for Spring Open Houses are:

• Oconee Campus: March 4, 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., 1201 Bishop Farms Pkwy., Watkinsville, Georgia 30677.
• Dahlonega Campus: March 25, 8:30 a.m. to noon, 110 S. Chestatee St., Dahlonega, Georgia 30597.
• Blue Ridge Campus: April 6, 5:30-7 p.m., 83 Dunbarton Farm Road, Blue Ridge, Georgia 30513.
• Cumming Campus: April 13, 5:30 to 7:45 p.m., 300 Aquatic Circle, Cumming, Georgia 30040.
• Gainesville Campus: April 15, 8:30 a.m. to noon, 3820 Mundy Mill Road, Oakwood, Georgia 30566.

The Oconee Campus Open House will begin with registration from 8:30 to 9 a.m. This will be followed by a short welcome ceremony in room 522 of the Student Resource Center. Between 9:15 and 10:45 a.m., there will be several concurrent information sessions. Campus tours will also run during this time. An academic and activities showcase will run from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Open House at the Dahlonega Campus will begin with registration from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. in the Memorial Hall Gymnasium, followed by a welcome ceremony at 8:30. Tours will be given every half hour beginning at the Library Technology Center between 9:15 a.m. and noon, with the last tour departing at 11:15 a.m. Several information sessions will also be held during this time, with most sessions running at 9:15, 10, 10:45, and 11:30 a.m. An academic and activities showcase will also run from 9:15 a.m. to noon.

The Blue Ridge Campus Open House kicks off with check-in and Hors d'oeuvres at 5:30 p.m., followed by an opening session and concurrent information sessions.

The Cumming Campus Open House will begin with registration, Hors d'oeuvres and a university showcase from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. This will be followed by a short opening session in room 125, and two concurrent information sessions between 6:45 and 7:45 p.m. Students will have an opportunity to explore the building between 5:30 and 6 p.m.

Open House at the Gainesville Campus begins with registration from 8:30 to 9 a.m. in the lobby of the Hugh Mills Physical Education Center. A welcome ceremony will follow, with guided campus tours running every half hour from 9:30 a.m. to noon, with the last tour departing at 11:30 a.m. Several concurrent information sessions will be held beginning at 9:30 a.m. An academic and activities showcase will also run in the Student Center's Dr. Herbert W. Robinson Ballroom from 10 a.m. to noon.
