What did you like best about the 正澳门六合彩开奖结果 McNair program?

My favorite thing about the McNair program at 正澳门六合彩开奖结果 was getting the opportunity to attend and present research at the McNair Scholars conference in Atlanta. I got to meet Carl McNair and talked to him about my research. It was an excellent networking opportunity. What really made the experience special was getting to share it with Iris and a few of my fellow McNair Scholars. We went to panels together, attended the grad school fair, and spent a lot of time talking excitedly about our grad school plans. That experience really solidified my future as an academic.

What do you wish you knew before you started grad school?

I wish I had learned to maintain a healthy work/life balance before I started grad school. Grad school is a full-time job in and of itself. I had to quickly learn how to manage my classes, research, work, relationship, and household. I really had to work on making time for myself.

What difficulties have you faced in Grad school?

I have faced some financial difficulties during my time as a graduate student. Luckily, I was able to secure funding; I currently teach and am a tutor in the Writing Studio. I'm glad I get to work in the English department and didn't have to look for employment elsewhere.
