Dr. Cooper joined the Mathematics Department at University of North Georgia in 2008. That same year he earned a Ph.D. in mathematics education from the University of Georgia. Prior to that, Dr. Cooper taught for five years at Georgia Perimeter College in Lawrenceville. He was born in raised in east Tennessee and earned B.S. and M.S. degrees in mathematics from the University of Tennessee. Dr. Cooper teaches a variety mathematics courses as well as courses for aspiring teachers, including CSCI 2100 in which he helps aspiring teachers learn to use technology to promote mathematical understanding.
