The REED Initiative
Regional Education and Economic Development
The Regional Education and Economic Development Initiative was launched in 2015 to support educational attainment and economic development through increased collaboration with K-12 educators and industry. Based on input from business, education, government and community leaders from throughout the north Georgia Region, work within the REED initiative focuses on three overarching themes:
- Workforce Readiness
- Access to Education
- Partnerships and Collaboration
As a public university with five campuses and nearly 20,000 students, the University of North Georgia has a responsibility to the citizens of our region. We are committed to preparing young people to realize their potential and succeed as adults, contributing to the economic prosperity of their communities.
