Institute for Cyber Operations

The mission of the Institute for Cyber Operations at the University of North Georgia (��ϲʿ��) is to develop highly capable cyber professionals and leaders for the private, non-profit, military, and government sectors. We accomplish this through innovative co-curricular opportunities, interdisciplinary research in emerging threats and solutions, relevant community outreach, and fostering a sustainable ecosystem to support cyber operations education. ��ϲʿ�� is designated by the NSA and Department of Homeland Security as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education (CAE-CDE). With this designation, ��ϲʿ�� is able to offer the Department of Defense Cyber Scholarship Program.

��ϲʿ�� is also designated as a University System of Georgia leadership institution and is The Military College of Georgia, one of six federally designated Senior Military Colleges in the nation.

��ϲʿ�� hosts female-focused CyberSHEro

��ϲʿ�� sponsored CyberSHEro, an event held at ��ϲʿ��'s Dahlonega Campus, to support young women pursuing cyber education and cyber as a career field.

Students earn DOD Cyber Scholarship

Two ��ϲʿ�� students are winners of the Department of Defense Cyber Scholarship for the 2023-24 academic year, including ��ϲʿ��'s first graduate student to earn the prestigious award.

��ϲʿ�� second in NSA Codebreaker Challenge

��ϲʿ�� finished second out of 448 colleges and universities in the 2023 NSA Codebreaker Challenge. It was also the top senior military college in the event.

Roughly midway through this year's NSA Codebreaker Challenge, ��ϲʿ��'s students and faculty are in second place in the nationwide cybersecurity competition.

��ϲʿ�� wins award for technology innovation

��ϲʿ�� won an award from the Atlanta Technology Association of Georgia for its technology efforts to support students in the Mike Cottrell College of Business.
